Can I use Excel 2004 with Cognos?

Yes, Excel 2004 can be used with Cognos reports, but only those downloaded in the CSV format using Firefox 2 will work correctly.  Using the CSV download also means that the cell formatting in the spreadsheet view you may be familiar with will not be there, but the data will be usable.   Currently both of the major Mac Web browsers (Safari and Firefox) cannot handle the Excel-formatted download correctly on Mac OS X.
