To use WSU's Instant Messaging Service on Windows, Computing & Information Technology (C&IT) supports the Spark instant messaging client. To install Spark:
- Go to the Messaging Service's login page.
- Use your AccessID and password to log in.
- In the Account Information section on the right:
- Go down to the WSU Instant Messaging (IM) section.
- Click Mac to download the IM Software you need.
- If you get the question "spark ... dmg "contains an application. Are you sure you want to continue downloading "spark ... dmg"?, click continue.
- Double-click the disk image to open it and reveal the Spark application.
- Click the Spark application and drag it to the Applications folder so it copies to the hard drive.
- Eject the Spark disk image from the desktop by dragging it to the Trash (as you would eject a CD or a USB drive).
- Double-click Spark to launch the application.
- Type your AccessID and its password in the Username and Password fields.
- Type messaging.wayne.edu in the Server field.
- Click Login.
